You're Never Too Old
Todays post could have been Face Mask Friday but it's really a mini review of a LINE of products so you know, it doesn't really count. I had planned to post about the Avene Cleanance range over a month ago when I received this fun package but my initial feelings were not as expected so I wanted to give them a proper test run before sharing my opinion on them with you. It's a fairly extensive range of products aimed at clearing skin without stripping it and the latest campaign 'You're Never Too Old' suggests that those of us still suffering with 'teenage' skin into (and out of) our twenties can find products that are kinder than the abrasive cleansers of our youth.
My skin is up and down, it can be great and then I'll suffer a monster breakout from nowhere so I was excited to try Cleanance and see how it helped to balance things. Unfortunately for the first few days I tried all three products above and found my skin to be much drier and far from clear.. I was ready to write it all off as not for me but I really wanted it to work for me so I persevered. After cutting out the Micellar water I discovered that that was what didn't agree with me.. of all things.. a cleansing water?!? I can't tell you that I"ve experienced amazing results with the mask or the moisturiser but the dryness issue is no more. The moisturiser is a nice base for makeup and something I'll reach for as a barrier if I'm experiencing skin issues but I've had some serious stress spots this week (moving house) and these products haven't touched them so although I don't hate them (as I first suspected) they just don't do it for me. I'd be really interested to hear from you if you've tried any of the Cleanance products and whether they work for you. I"ve heard really good things about them so I don't know if I'm expecting too much, perhaps they work better in a long term skincare routine.. I'd love to know your thoughts but for now? Not for me.
Cleanance is available online here
