Five Favourites

If you didn't catch my Spring Favourites video last Sunday, here's a condensed snap shot of what I've been putting on my face this past month or so. As the weather gets warmer I tend to wear less base and minimal as it may look, this is what I've been reaching for day to day..

I've been testing out a variety of hair removal techniques recently so I've experienced some annoying breakouts around my chin as a result. When I'm looking for sheer coverage and my skin is acting up I always reach for La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo because the added skin care benefits actually work to reduce the breakouts while evening the redness. For extra coverage and around my eyes I've been using Bobbi Brown Correctors in a few different colours consistently since November. I assumed they would be heavy and crease since they look so creamy in the pan but they're one of the most flattering concealers I've discovered in my 30s and the only one I know will work anywhere on my face. Also a super handy compact, complete with mirror for touching up on the go.Something I always struggle with in the summer months is blush. Powder often wears unevenly in the heat and there are few cream colours that I've gotten along with (my absolute favourite from Josie Maran was discontinued *sob*) but this Pot Rouge from Bobbi Brown is BEAUTIFUL! I apply it with the Real Techniques contour brush and it blends to a really soft flush (as above) but I've started wearing it a little heavier than this since I have a little more colour it's proving to be very versatile. Vichy Dermablend has been a firm favourite for a while, like a soft focus finishing powder, everyone should try it! And lastly, Lash Sensational mascara.. but in brown. This was a mistake but I might just be converted, at least for the summer months anyway. I feel like I've said this before and always gone back to black but it's definitely softer when wearing no other eye makeup.

And that is my super simple routine.. I've been layering it over my Body Shop Skin Defence SPF50 which I showed in this video but someone suggested I wasn't using enough? They said it should be a teaspoon every day but I can't imagine how that would sit under makeup. How much SPF do you wear?
