Revolution Pro / Foundation Drops

MAKEUP REVOLUTION PRO FOUNDATION DROPS REVIEWI've been playing with these foundation drops for about a week now but you can watch my first impressions video (featuring other products from this new range) here, if you'd like to see them in action.Initially I was bowled over by how easy they were to work with and the finish they gave me. Now I'm in my 30s and my skin is drier, high coverage base products tend to look unflattering without some serious ground work. The beauty of the drops, of course, is that you can mix in not only different colours but skin care too so if you want a tinted moisturiser you can adapt your everyday foundation as it suits. I imagined that's how I'd use these but once I played around a little I realised they were entirely natural enough to be worn 'full strength'.MAKEUP REVOLUTION PRO FOUNDATION DROPS REVIEWMAKEUP REVOLUTION PRO FOUNDATION DROPS REVIEWSo I was impressed, at £7 a bottle and with 18 shades in the range I had expected not to love them. I thought Revolution may have been over-reaching, I haven't been in love with any of the Revolution (or sub-brand) foundations in the past and so I'd set the bar low. In addition to the 18 foundations there are also 'mixers' to lighten, alter tone or illuminate your chosen shade. Another very 'high brow' choice for an extremely affordable range. Another reason it appeared that they may be stretching themselves but another product that proved me wrong.MAKEUP REVOLUTION PRO FOUNDATION DROPS REVIEWMAKEUP REVOLUTION PRO FOUNDATION DROPS REVIEWWhere they fell down for me was wear. Those first impressions were, WOW but within a couple of hours of sitting home, editing videos and watching Netflix I was an oil slick. It's a trade-off really, I can find a foundation that initially looks dry and unflattering but wears well as the day goes on and does a good job controlling oil or I can have something that looks fabulous from the get go but needs regular maintenance. This is very much going to depend on your skin type and having experimented with different primers/setting powders I can improve on the below I little but really if I'm wearing this I need to prepare for regular touch up breaks if I want to stay shine-free.MAKEUP REVOLUTION PRO FOUNDATION DROPS REVIEWIn fairness, I've only ever found one foundation that is (to me) absolutely perfect and that's Estee Lauder Double Wear. It looks as good at hour 1 as it does at hour 8 but it's £30 so you can't compare. I love that you can pick up 2 of these for £14 and create your perfect shade and the wear time of the product (oil aside) really isn't bad. It didn't settle in to my lines/pores and you just can't ask 1 product to do it all.You can find this (along with the whole new range) online at Revolution Beauty *gifted
