Anyone who watches my vlogs or insta stories will know that my go to weekend destination is Meadowhall (Sheffield) whether I'm shopping or not. We often go just for lunch or to the cinema (their Vue has £5 tickets for every film, every day!!) but when I'm in the mood to splurge there's no better place for me.I get messages every week from people telling me they've spotted me there and so when Meadowhall contacted me about running a giveaway and organising a day of treats at my favourite shopping centre it was like hitting the blogging lottery. I spent the morning mooching and picking up bits for our upcoming holiday (I make up backpacks full of activities and little toys for the kids when we fly - it's incredibly over-indulgent but I may share them in a post before we go if you're interested?) before having my nails done at iBrow & Beauty, a hand massage and introduction to the brand at Neals Yard (where I dropped a pretty penny on completely necessary products!) finishing up with a fabulous makeover at Kat VonD.
To say we're there every week I hadn't seen the new Debenhams Beauty Hall and it is AMAZING! There are new brands (like Kat VonD) as well as state of the art beauty equipment and a Clarins 'spa' that I can't wait to book in to. There's a Blow Ltd Blow Dry & Beauty Bar and a bunch of curated stands where you can go and pick up items without having to have a conversation. I was most impressed by this new element because counters can be intimidating and we don't always want to be sold to. The face lift in this department alone has totally renewed my excitement for visiting the centre!Outside of the Beauty Hall; though, Meadowhall in its entirety has gone through a massive (£100m) transformation in the last year or so and; if you haven't visited recently, you really should. I rounded out the day with afternoon tea (for which my husband joined me on his lunch break) at Godiva where I had the most delicious salmon 'sandwich' (I mean, in theory it was a sandwich but the whole thing was a millennial pink work of art) and chocolate mousse thing that looked like hard chocolate but was somehow sculpted in to this whirl? (it's witchcraft, I swear) before having to return to reality and the school run.
I mean, how could I say no? I have written many sponsored posts in my 8 years doing this but few have come as easily as this. I can't not be enthusiastic about Meadowhall. When I was 16 I used to get the train on pay day, blow 80% of my cash by 12 and sit and assess the damage over lunch with my best friend. No buyers remorse here. The only Boxing Day I haven't visited the centre to shop the Boxing Day sales I was actually working there. The ties are strong.
