Pretty is The New Push Up

img_0025I posted this set from Primark on instagram a month or so ago and aside from the ‘how pretty’ comments I did get a few ‘but how will they wash?’ and I totally get it.. I love delicate lingerie like this but am always worried it will be destroyed after the first spin in the machine. Since Vogue declared the cleavage ‘over’ this week and heralded the return of soft cup bra’s I decided I would share a few of my favourite sets and introduce you to possibly the best invention EVER – The Laundry Bag. I’d heard of these before but never thought I needed one until I ordered this from Amazon after buying these delicates and I don’t know how I went so long without it!! Not only does it protect pretty lace and embellishments but it saves your tights from tangling or laddering and your bra hooks from being mangled beyond all use in the machine. Hands up who’s lost countless bras to that fate? I’ve lost some EXPENSIVE bras that were otherwise perfectly fine to their hooks being caught in the washer.. never again. I know this sounds sponsored but buy one and you’ll get it, trust me! For now.. here are my pretty picks of the new lingerie line up..

Fab post. I absolutely cannot pull off anything like this due to the size of my bust but will definitely purchase a laundry bag!!

Although those styles are softer and less push up…. surely going braless will save you money and you body shape will be the same!
And… no hooks to get mangled in the laundry process!

Not at all, triangle bras still offer support and shape, I wear them almost exclusively

generally a triangle bra is just a bikini top and the ties create the lift…. the reality is that an unsupported breast will have less sag in the fullness of time.
No bra is more healthy and less droop!

            I refer to this/////
So why do women wear a bra?
“Because breasts need to be supported.”
This is largely a myth: “…wearing a bra… has no medical necessity whatsoever”, says Susan M. Love, M.D in her “Dr. Susan Love’s Breast Book”. This is similar to the myth that women supposedly need corsets to support their stomach muscles.

Now, large-breasted women may need the support from bras. Jogging and other active sports may be painful even for medium-breasted ladies. This is, however, an individual thing, so do what is comfortable for you.

In one study, large-breasted women removed the weight of breasts from their shoulders for two weeks, either by going braless or by wearing a strapless bra. Only one woman chose a strapless bra and all the others went braless. The researchers monitored the women for muscle pain and tenderness. Seventy-nine percent of patients decided to remove breast weight from the shoulder permanently because it rendered them symptom free!
