Face Of The Week #3
As promised this week is different again.. far removed from the lavender haze of last week, actually. I was laid up with flu for most of last week so I wasn't really feeling a heavy makeup look and this is what I came up with. I've totally fallen back in love with the Clarins BB Cream which I hate as it's not cheap but it evens everything out and doesn't require a powder - unheard of for me but for easy days it's perfect. I had to bulk up on concealer as the flu had me looking like I hadn't slept for weeks, Estee Lauder Double Wear is a staple when I want high coverage. Another Clarins product snuck in by way of blush, this peach, cream formula is again one I reach for on my 'no makeup' quick pick me up days. The tricky one this week was brows.. I'm trying to change it up every week but it's tough as I'm so picky about the colour/texture of brow pencils.. I pulled out MUA Power Brow which I really like but is a little dark for me.. I actually ended up really liking the madonna-esque contrast so you can expect to see the darker brow from me in future 'faces'.
Mascara this week was a new one, brand new as it happens.. I'll do a full review on the Maybelline Lash Sensational soon as it's a pretty recent launch but I'm on the fence about it having used it for a week. At first I loved it but it's a lot of work to get the look I want and it can get messy.. mmm.. watch this space. Lastly I was going to forgo lip colour altogether or go with a plain balm but I decided on one of my all time favouirte lip tints from Lanolips, Rhubarb. If you haven't tried the tinted balms from Lanolips I highly recommend them and this particular shade is a great one to have in your bag as it's going to go with pretty much anything and it's tough to get wrong if you need to apply mirrorlessly - yes, that's a word.. you're telling me you don't know what it means? EXACTLY! It's a word.
That's it for another week.. I may go bolder next week as I feel like I've played it pretty safe thus far and there are only a couple of weeks left in the mini-series.. ALTHOUGH I'm tempted to keep it going. It's lots of fun 'shopping my stash' and it's reminding me of all these products I forgot I had and giving me a push to really trial some of the newer ones.. we'll see.. not sure I have the staying power for an entire year but maybe..
