I Know It's October But..
It's happened. I'm looking at Christmas trees. Every year I put mine up and while it wasn't cheap it doesn't have that full, American classic vibe I've always longed for. This year I've decided to splurge and buy something fabulous and.. flocked?I've been back and forth on this one, in America it seems to have been a big trend for a while but I feel like in the UK it still has a bit of a tacky rep. A tree with fake snow on it is so 1992, no? But the heart wants what it wants and mine wants needs a flocked tree this Christmas. I've been gradually phasing out any coloured ornaments and love the silver/gold/white theme but what do you think? Is it a step too far? Before you answer, peruse some of my favourite inspo pics from Pinterest..
I think what makes me nervous is breaking the bank on the tree of dreams only for it to look really dated in a couple of years. I could take a swing at DIY flocking but chances are that would not turn out well. Ultimately I'd love a real tree but I'm an early bird and couldn't possibly wait til mid-December to decorate so it's just not an option. For now I'm going to lose the rest of my day to festive posts of years gone by and general excitement that it's almost time to bring out the baubles.
