Late Summer & Lashings Of Gin..
Over the past few months I've settled on a new 'go to tipple' after realising beer left me bloated.. although I do still succumb from time to time. Gin & Tonic is refreshing in the heat, can be altered to whatever strength you prefer and necessarily NEED to be chilled since you can add as much ice as you like. I've experimented with multiple gins and come to the conclusion I honestly don't care which I drink. Whatever is on offer in Asda usually but I've bought Greenall's a few times and like it. The tonic is the important ingredient for me and I believe that most people who say they don't like gin ACTUALLY just don't like tonic.. or at least the tonic they've tried. These days there are a plethora of flavoured options, my favourite of which is elderflower. Lots of brands do their own version but Bottle Green makes my favourite Elderflower cordial so it stood to reason theirs would be my favourite tonic and it is. So I thought I had my summer cocktail perfected until I discovered the world of insulated tumblers. I've obviously had tumblers before and a coffee thermos that never kept hot drinks hot for as long as it claimed but I was NOT aware they made them for cold drinks.I did my research before buying this one, you can spend a small fortune on this kind of thing and I wasn't really prepared to drop more than £20 so when I found this on Amazon for £14.99 I was sold. The brand is Revord and I've read reviews that claim it's no less amazing than the hugely expensive Yeti (the Chanel of insulated tumblers, if you will), ice miraculously remains ICE in my drinks for easily 4 or 5 hours so after 2 weeks of use I just had to blog about it. It's completely amazing. Of course you COULD use this for beverages OTHER than gin but.. why would you want to?
