Three New Things

I'm going to try something called 'Three New Things', I try so many new things on a weekly basis that may not be interesting enough to dedicate an entire post to but that I want to mention in some way and this might just tick that box, we'll see. This week my Three New Things are..Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara, Nars Eyebrow Pencil in Ipanema and NYX Lingerie in Embellishment First of all, I purchased the Nars eyebrow pencil from TK Maxx last week for I think around £6.99 thinking I'd got a major bargain, 1) I think it's now been discontinued and 2) it's terrible - possibly because it was very old stock, possibly because it was just awful and that why it was discontinued so.. that wasn't a great start . Second the mascara, such hype surrounded this self-rejuventating formula that nobody stopped to consider the brush. If you are in to volumising, big wand mascaras you may like this but as you will see from the below.. it didn't do much for me. I am intrigued by the shake up concept, the idea that you could refresh a mascara every time you use it but I'd like to see it in a more lengthening formula with a rubber wand.. if you wouldn't mind, Rimmel?The NYX Lingerie I wasn't holding out all that much hope for having really disliked the Teddy shade I bought previously, however I think there's a knack to these. To all liquid lipsticks, really but some need more work than others and this formula definitely benefits from a very light layer of product for a long lasting result. This paler shade is much more flattering (I bought Teddy based on online swatches and it's SO dark for me) and one that's made me consider buying more. I really do love the huge range of neutrals they have on offer and I realise now I may have judged them too harshly as I really enjoyed wearing this!If you're into shorter, quick fire reviews I may keep this up because often the idea of sitting an writing reams about one lipstick is what puts me off posting at all ..it's definitely to blame for my long absences. So keeping it snappy may be better all round!
